Thinking of Going Back to School? I say… Do it! #ad #Infographic

This is a partnered post. Infographic provided by Vista College…

I went to college for a year after I graduated high school, then quit to take a, what I thought at the time, dream job. It was for the position as credit manager for J.C. Penney… it really was a great job for someone so young.

Eventually though, I realized I wanted more and I felt like I was stuck in a position with no where to go. Besides, it just wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So I ended up going back to school and graduating 12 years after I graduated high school with a B.S. in Education.

If you’re entertaining the idea of going back to school, I’d say, “Yes!” “Do it!” It’s never too late to go back to college.

  1. I’ve actually been thinking about this a lot. I’m thinking once baby goes to school I want to really pursue my dreams. I stopped when my parents passed. I need to go back.

  2. I have been out of high school since 1996 and am just now 8 classes from finally finishing my bachelors degree. Anyone can go to college, no matter age, money, etc. Get it done and you won’t regret it!

  3. I went back as an adult. I would go back again if I could afford it. I should be a professional student. 😉

I thought I could be a professional student before I had my son. I loved school! But since having my son, not so much. 🙂

  4. For those who never finished their bachelors or masters, finishing is a great idea and will make a huge difference in career prospects…IF the degree is from a reputable school. Before committing to any kind of online degree program, make sure to talk to real live people in your area with jobs in the field you hope to work in to determine if an online degree will help you – sometimes that time and money is better spent other ways, even if you can’t do a traditional degree program right now.

  5. It took me forever to graduate from college. I started in 1989, completed one year, took three off, went back for a couple, took time off to travel Europe and get married, then I finally went back in 1997 and graduated in 1999. I began my graduate studies in 2002 and finished my thesis in 2007–I had two babies during grad school. Ugh, it was hard but I’m glad I did it.

Oh, traveling Europe sounds amazing and so worth the break from school, though. 🙂

  6. Going back to school has been on my mind a lot lately. I’m SO close to being finished that it would be silly not to.

  7. i tryed and did not make it the calss was to hard for me and then now i am in over 8000 dollar debt paying them back

  8. I agree with you 100%. I didn’t have a chance when I graduated from high school but after I married and our daughter started school I did and never regretted it. You are never too old to go back either.. 🙂

  9. I ended up losing my financial aid when I was super close to graduating, and I had a newborn so I couldn’t afford to pay for school without aid. I definitely plan to go back one day so I can be a teacher, but I am planning to stay at home with my kids for quite some time so I’m in no rush. My mom is working on her bachelor’s now at 57!

  10. I’d so love to see these jobs ranked with a factor of sustainability!

  11. I agree that it is never too late to go back to school. I finished my MBA last May at 42, and went back a total of 3 times after my first BA. Just make sure that you chose a school that is properly accredited.

  12. I’d love to return to school but the prices for classes are way to expensive. Were still paying for my sons college and my daughters school yr this yr. Uuugh

  13. Love this article. I’ve always believed its never too late to go back to school. Education is for everyone. The young and the old. I remember back when I was in college there were a lot of older students who decided to go back or start a new beginning. Very inspiring! I may go back and pursue something different one day.

  14. I’ve thought about it for a long time but just don’t have the time. If I did go back I would definitely do something IT, Social Media related for sure.

  15. Funny you should post this, going back to school to finish my degree has been on my mind a lot lately.

  16. I’ve definitely been toying with the idea of going back to school. My husband works in IT. He went to college straight out of high school for his associates. After graduating college and starting his career, where he’s worked for the past seven years, we met, married, and started our family. He’s recently decided to go back to school. He works a full time job, is a full time student, and still has time for his family. He’s my hero. Such an inspiration, I can’t help but think if he can do all that, I can certainly go back and finish school. Great infographic! This is awesome information to have, very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
