Letters to Our Sons – April 2013

Dear Cody,

I can’t believe another month has come and gone. Time flies. And as you get older you’ll realize that the older you get, the faster time seems to fly by.

This my son is one reason you must appreciate each day. Each hour. Each minute.

I love writing a monthly letter to you, Cody, because it will be a way for both of us to look back and remember what you were doing… what was going on in your life during a particular time of your life. I am sorry I didn’t start the ‘Letters to Our Sons‘ when you were a baby. But better late than never.

As for March, it was filled with so much awesomeness! April has started off amazingly well, also. Since this letter is being written on April 4th, I am including the very beginning of this month, too.

Some of the things that happened this month — you got all A’s again on your report card. You won 1st place in County in your 4H speech demonstration in Engineering and got to advance to Regionals. You won’t be able to make the competition because you also got cast in “Sarah Plain and Tall” at Knoxville Children’s Theatre and will have a performance the night of the 4H competition.

Speaking of Knoxville Children’s Theatre, we got to go see “Bridge to Terabithia, and you loved it! We went on our first hike of the year this month, you had a sleepover, and celebrated Easter. Oh, and the first day of Spring (it snowed) and Spring Break!

We pulled a great April Fool’s joke on you. And yes we laughed (and laughed) at your expense. You’ll definitely know who you get your sense of humor from. πŸ™‚

I’m incredibly proud of you, Cody, as always. You excel at everything you do.

I’ve also enjoyed watching you sing and dance. You have done a lot more singing and dancing than usual this month… and you’re Harlem Shake has been entertaining, to say the least.

As of writing this, you only have 33 days of school left. Enjoy every one of them! You’ll never experience 4th grade again, so make them memorable.

I love you with all my heart!

~Mom
