#spon: I’m required to disclose a relationship between our site and Jimmy Dean. This could include Jimmy Dean providing us w/content, product, access or other forms of payment.
We love sausage. And not just for breakfast. Actually we love all pork, but sausage is one of our favorites. Especially in recipes. It’s a versatile meat, with lot’s of flavor.
I also love easy. I’m a busy mom who looks for ways to make things that are delicious but I can make for us to eat and get out the door for play rehearsal (or whatever other extracurricular activity my son is participating in at the time).
Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles fit the bill. The sausage is already pre-cooked and crumbled, making them perfect to add in recipes. I add them to omelets all the time, but wanted to give them a try in a pasta dish, since pasta is another quick and easy favorite in our home.
I found a recipe and made some changes to come up with this absolutely delicious and easy recipe:
Bow Tie Pasta with Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles in a Tomato Cream Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 pkg. Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles
- 1/2-1 tsp. dried red pepper flakes
- 1/2 c. diced onion
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cans (15 oz) fire roasted diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 12 oz. bow tie pasta
- 3 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling water until tender according to package instructions.
- Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic to skillet and cook until onion is tender.
- Add Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles and warm through for 2-3 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, cream and salt. Simmer until mixture thickens slightly.
- Mix pasta into the sauce, garnish with chopped basil and Parmesan cheese.
My husband, son, and I loved it. It was rich, creamy, and hearty. But the best part, it was quick and easy. We ate the leftovers for lunch the next day, and it was even better.
I’m going to try Jimmy Dean sausage crumbles in a fritatta next. Yum.
I have not tried them yet, but we love Jimmy Dean. This looks like a great dinner!
You have to try them… so good and convenient. 🙂
This looks so good! I never thought of using crumbles in anything other than breakfast foods!
That looks really good, I bet my husband would love the addition of sausage crumbled in.
I have not. I am usually not a sausage eater but a couple weeks ago a friend served 15 bean soup with sausage and it was really good.

OMG I <3 pasta. Unfortunately my 7 y/o daughter immediately gags on every pasta but spaghetti noodles so I don't get to venture off into "bow ties" (all the fun stuff). This looks amazing and I had no idea they had fully cooked sausage crumbles!
I have some of those in my freezer. They’re perfect to throw into so many things. I love your recipe!
I rarely think of Jimmy Dean beyond breakfast. Great idea!

It does! In fact, it was better the next day. 🙂

I really like how you used sausage in a dinner entree since most people automatically seem to associate it with breakfast. Your tomato cream sauce sounds divine as well!
That tomato cream sauce sounds so good. I can’t wait to try this.
I’ve never tried the crumbles but I love sausage. Thanks for sharing on the weekend re-Treat link party. Hope you link up to the party again tomorrow!
