Toni from A Daily Dose of Toni, is hosting this 30 Days About Me meme and today's prompt is "Who is/are your best friends?" As we say in my home, this one is "Easy, Peasy!" I've been fortunate to have had some wonderful friendships in my life. Some came into my life for short periods of time. This doesn't mean their impact wasn't great.
I've always loved the saying, "A friend knows all about you, and loves you anyway!" This is so true. I don't take my friendships lightly. My dearest and closest friends are very unique and special women. They do have some things in common…. besides me as their friend. First off, just that they would allow me into their life and hopefully call me friend, is the most amazing thing. That makes them pretty darn tolerant. Or, a glutton for punishment.
I have four close friends. Two older, as in, been in my life for a long time, and two newer friends. These four beautiful women mean the world to me. Although I don't live near two of my friends anymore, I know if I need them, they'd be there. And even if I go for periods of time where I don't see or talk to them… when we do talk, it's like we just saw each other yesterday.
I realize that I am drawn towards people that have a wonderful sense of humor. All four of my friends have anincredible sense of humor… some more than others – you know who you are! And smart. I love smart, funny women. Okay, I truly could go on and on about them. So without further ado, allow me to introduce you to my bffs…. from newest to oldest (and NO, that does not mean the "oldest" as in age)….
Dawn – I met Dawn when my son was in Kindergarten, four years ago. She is down-to-earth. Bubbly. She smiles all the time. And has a way about her that puts people at ease. I enjoy her comany so much. And she's a pretty darned-good dancer.
Stacie – I also met Stacie while our kids were in Kindergarten together. We hit it off, right off the bat. I always felt like I've known her all my life. It was an instant connection. She and I have a lot in common, and being around her is like a breath of fresh air.
Mary – I've known Mary for twenty-two years now. Yep, 24 years. She is hilarious! Her laugh is infectious. We have shared some fun times. I look up to her in many ways… she is one of the strongest and hardest working women I know. With a heart of gold. Disclaimer: I have many beautiful pictures of Mary, but this one shows her personality so much. She was wearing part of Cody's cat costume for his first Halloween.
Robin – Wow! Robin and I have been friends for thirty-one years. That's a long time my friend! We've been through a lot together. I've spent many a night at her home. Her mom was like a second mom to me. After high school we shared an apartment together… and still are best friends. 🙂 She lmao funny, with a heart so huge, that after all these years, I'm still in awe at her kindness.
Whether they old or new friends, these beutiful, talented, funny, strong women are a big part of my life. I am incredibly blessed to call them friends. I love them, and treasure every moment with them.
And Dawn, Stacie, Mary, and Robin, I thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives.
You are so sweet Donna!!! I certianly consider you a BFF as well! You are the greatest!
Lots of Love
Donna,
