Here are 10 Stay at home Valentine’s Day date ideas…
10 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas
Set the mood
Think of your perfect date night scenario and try to re-create it in your very own home! Fill your space with candles, rose petals, and background music, and even dress up a bit, and voila!
You have a fancy Valentine’s Day date night for less than you would at any restaurant. This allows you to move at your own pace too – no rushed dinner!
One Word – Fondue
Ever been to one of those fancy restaurants where you can order all-you-can-eat fondue in EVERY flavor?
There’s nothing that says Valentine’s Day more than fondue! Create a multiple-course fondue menu; complete with different cheeses with meat, vegetables, and bread followed by chocolate fondues with fruit and tons of goodies.
Have a Spa Night
Buy some of your favorite bubble baths, get some stress-relief massage oil, and just imagine what a relaxing and romantic evening you’ll have!
Some great scents for relaxation are lavender, chamomile, and eucalyptus. The possibilities for a spa night at home are endless! This is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day date ideas.
Make Your Favorite Dinner Together
Create a fun menu, buy everything you need ahead of time and have a blast cooking together – listen to music, laugh, talk and taste test all of what you’ve made together. I personally love the idea of cooking together with my husband… this is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day date ideas.
Movie Night
Get cuddled up on the couch, make some popcorn and throw on a couple of your favorite movies to watch in front of the fireplace for a super romantic and cozy night in.
Camp in Your Backyard
If the weather permits, set up a tent in your backyard and have a romantic evening star gazing, drinking your favorite wine and chit-chatting the night away. Just grab your two-person tent and enjoy!
Re-live Your Wedding
Buy your favorite wine, and a cake, and watch your wedding DVD as the candles burn. Nothing is more romantic than reliving one of the best days of your life! Maybe even renew your vows.
Make Homemade Pizzas
Buy ingredients to build your own pizzas along with all of the toppings and have an excellent time making pizza together, drinking wine, and laughing the night away.
You can use a heart-shaped pizza stone or pan to make the perfect heart-shaped pizza.
Have Breakfast in Bed
Whether it’s morning or night, any time is a good time for breakfast. Make a fancy and filling meal and enjoy it in your cozy bed together. Breakfast is the best meal of the day so making it a big to-do will make for a super fun time.
Use a pancake or egg mold to make heart-shaped eggs and/or pancakes.
Tackle a DIY Project
Whether you’re a long-time homeowner or just recently purchased a home, there’s always time for a DIY project! Spend your evening creating a fun project that you’ll have in your home and think about your date night every time you look at it. Besides, couples that can survive DIY projects together are a match made in Heaven.
If you’re trying to save money or are just looking for something different and exciting to do, never overlook your own home! There are so many great things to do for a date night and on Valentine’s Day that surpasses going out somewhere.
How Do You Plan on Spending Valentine’s Day?
Getting to spend the evening on your own time without being rushed out to make room for new customers, and being able to talk and move around is a significant aspect of a date night.
I just realized that many of my Valentine’s Day date night ideas involve food.
I hope you like at least one of these Valentine’s Day date ideas! Regardless of what you do this Valentine’s Day, I hope you sit back, relax and enjoy your time together with your special someone.

I love these ideas! Thanks for sharing Donna. We prefer to stay home versus going out on the town. You gave me some great ideas…I love the camping one. 🙂
You know I’m passing this along! Hope you’re having a great week!
Cori
While it would be easier to go out and have everything prepared for you, I think you connect more as a couple going through the process of cooking together. Or, one person set up the movie night/table, one cooks (or order food to be delivered at home lol) all that matters after all is said and done is the company. Why go out and spend your special night with countless other people. It’s much more romantic planning and doing stuff without the background distractions.
oooh…fondue! Great idea! I will definitely have to try this on Valentine’s Day.
These are really great idea and I love the heart shaped pizza. We usually go out to eat and go and see a movie.
Cooking together is something we like to do… it’s just hard when you have two little ones! Maybe a night at grandma’s would help us tackle a complicated dish together!
I love this! There’s nothing more romantic than a night in. It’s so nice to just chill out with your sweetheart.
Excellent article for upcoming V-day!
I think you have a nice list here and appreciate you sharing it.
These are all cute ideas. We almost always stay in for Valentine’s Day because all the restaurants are so busy.
These are some great ideas! My husband and I tend to stay home on Valentine’s Day. Our anniversary is the week after Valentine’s Day so we usually go somewhere for our anniversary and spend Valentine’s Day at home.
My husband and I are all about date nights at home so these suggestions are perfect. I love the idea of doing a DIY project together, especially since my husband is so handy.
We always stay home on Valentine’s Day. We make pizza and eat it by candlelight with the kids.
This is a great list of ideas. I can definitely see myself using some of these ideas.
These are fabulous ideas for a stay at home Valentine’s. I love that heart pizza and the idea of tackling a DIY project.
These are great! We will not be going anywhere for Valentine’s so hopefully I can use some of these ideas!
Those are fun ideas to make Valentine’s Day a special night. Our wedding anniversary is the same week, so we often just skip it. Feeling inspired to do something special.
I may or may not have a Valentines this year but these are cute ideas! I love the heart shapped pizza!
