I love olive oil. I use it every day. I also love butter… but I use it sparingly. Butter tastes so good, but I love the benefits of olive oil. So when I was at Walmart recently and saw Star Butter flavored Olive Oil… I grabbed that bottle of olive oil up.
Quickly.
Just so you know how much I really love butter, I used to get in the fridge and get sticks of butter and go hide under the dining room table and eat them. Seriously. I’m a butter freak. My Mom said that she found me eating butter like that several times as a child.
I grew out of that phase, thankfully, but I love the flavor of butter still today. Plus my waistline thanks me.
As I was saying, I saw the Star Butter Flavored Olive Oil at Walmart with a conversion chart tag on the bottle and knew this was an answer to my problems (well, at least to the problem of how to have that rich buttery taste with the goodness of olive oil in my recipes).
If you’re gluten intolerant, Star Olive Oil is gluten free and dairy free, too.
I’ve been craving oatmeal raisin cookies, my all-time favorite cookie, but hate using a stick of butter to make them. I never even thought about using olive oil in baking before, either, but with the butter flavored olive oil, I had to try it.
I also decided to use the Star Butter flavored Olive Oil to baste my turkey breast for Thanksgiving. I rubbed it on the inside of the turkey skin and all over the outside. It turned out perfectly. It was gobbled up… pun intended.
And yesterday I was wanting some roasted brussel sprouts and I love keeping it simple with brussel sprouts, with just a little salt, pepper, and either olive oil or butter. Now I can do both! Ta-Da!
Okay, without further ado, here’s my Oatmeal Raisin Cookies with Star Butter Flavored Olive Oil recipe:

I plan on using the butter flavored olive oil to replace butter on a regular basis from now on. Oh, don’t worry, I won’t be hiding under my dining room table drinking the bottle. Even if it does taste THAT good!
Whether you’re making an entree, a side dish, or dessert… STAR Butter flavored Olive Oil is the “star” of the show.

i have been wanting to try the buttered flavored olive oil since it is better to cook with it than butter itself. and i have to have my veggies with butter on it .
Hi Rebeka, I highly recommend you try it… I think you’ll love it!
Butter flavored olive oil sounds wonderful to bake with! Your cookie recipe sounds really yummy too.
YUM. I would love one of these right now!!
Sorry they’re all gone. But, I’ll make another batch for ya! 🙂
Thanks for the recipe, Ill try to make it with my son!
Making cookies with kids is so much fun!
Yum. I really want some of those cookies. They look delish. And I love Star Olive Oil. I use it a lot.
They look so yummy! I bet Santa would like to find these left for him. 🙂
Yes, I have a feeling that Santa would indeed love them! 😉
Hi Donna,
I loved the fact that you were a butter freak earlier…lol….I guess that’s why they say all good things are fattening 🙂
I just keep away from butter, and yes, we also use Olive oil but keep changing the oil off and on as that’s recommended too. Lovely recipe, though being a vegetarian, what substitute would you suggest for egg in this one? I know I have a problem in some of the cake and biscuit recipes because of that, so usually try the ones without them.
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice weekend 🙂
I didn’t know they made a butter flavored olive oil – this recipe sounds great!
Wow – I’d never heard of butter flavored olive oil. But I can definitely see how it would be a big hit. I’ll have to be on the lookout for it. I definitely love cooking with olive oil. And I love the image of you eating sticks of butter under the dining table. LOL!
Those cookies look fantastic. I also think I’d love this oil instead of butter on my brussels sprouts after seeing your picture. Thanks for sharing!
I love oatmeal cookies! I’m going to have to try these! Thanks for sharing this recipe with us!
Happy Friday Donna!
Always love cookies. I just recently read somewhere else about the butter flavored oil. Someone was using it to make their popcorn and I thought that would be a good idea too.
I love butter too, although I don’t think I have ever loved it enough to eat it under the kitchen table. LOL!! Unlike you, I haven’t given it up and my waistline definitely shows it. I still do a lot of baking with butter because nothing compares, so I am definitely intrigued by butter olive oil. I use olive oil in almost all my cooking but it would be nice to swap some butter for olive oil in my baking. It’s been awhile since I’ve had oatmeal cookies and now I have a craving. 🙂
I’ve never made oatmeal raisin cookies but I love them so I’ll have to try this! Thanks!
Those cookies look so good, and that Olive Oil sounds fun!! I love to cook so might pick some up and try it out!
I’ve never heard of butter flavored olive oil!
My girls love baking cookies! I’ll definitely share this recipe with them, thank you so much!
Yum! I love oatmeal raisin cookies and they are a healthier option for the boys, so I am definitely going to try out this recipe.
Never heard of Star Butter Flavored Olive Oil. Don’t know if they sell it in the stores I grocery shop, but will look for it the next time I’m there. Wonder how it would work as popcorn oil?
I had no idea they made a butter flavored olive oil. That could be great in any number of baked goods. Thanks for letting us know about this!
Now you have me hungry for oatmeal raisin cookies! I am gong to have to give that recipe a try!
I just realized that there were olive oils that came in the butter flavor last month. Before that, I had no idea! Your cookies look delicious!
I didn’t know they make Butter flavored Olive Oil!
I like the flavor of olive oil anyway. Cool product though.
Your cookies look yummy!
YUM! As a kid, I didn’t like oatmeal raisin cookies at all. Now as an adult, I love ’em!
I’m totally looking for this the next time I’m at Walmart, I like that it has a conversion chart because I’d have no idea how much to use in place of butter otherwise!
Oh how wonderful! They look really yummy!
I’m thinking I’ll take the cookies over the brussell sprouts LOL!
I’ve never thought to use olive oil in a cookie recipe but that means it would make it an option for me as I’ve tried to cut out gluten and dairy! YAY
All of these recipes look amazing! Thank you! #client
I also love Butter, but I have never heard of this Product before, I have always just used Butter for everything, but I will look into this Butter Flavored Olive Oil and give it a try.
Thanks for the Post, Pictures, and the Recipe!
Oh my husband would love these, he is a big oatmeal cookie fan.
Yum! I’ve never tried that brand of olive oil.
I haven’t had an oatmeal raisin cookie in forever – I’ll have to try these.
I’ve never heard of butter flavored olive oil, interesting.
I also love the taste and also the smell of butter. A little strange, I know. I’m glad to hear that the olive oil you’re speaking of is gluten-free. More and more people are finding out about their gluten allergy.
