Letters to Our Sons – August 2013

Cody Chillin' Aug. 2013

Dear Cody,

I usually write a letter, but boy have we been busy this month. It has been so much fun spending this summer with you! You ARE an amazing boy. You are so smart, funny, and talented.

You start 5th grade on August 12th and I am beyond sad about this. This will be your last year in elementary school and you are growing up way too fast. It will be an exciting year, though, I’m sure.

So since we have been so busy, I’ve done something a little different this month. You and I had a little Q&A.

1. What is your favorite food?

Mac & Cheese

2. What is your favorite restaurant?

Noodles & Co.

3. What is your favorite color?

4. What is your favorite movie?

Wreck it Ralph

5. What is your favorite book?

All the Goosebumps

6. What do you love about acting?

Because it makes me feel good to make people laugh, or smile, or feel emotions.

7. What’s your favorite animal?

8. What’s your favorite subject in school?

Until next month….

I love you to the moon & back!

P:S: You did get a part in Tom Sawyer! After you auditioned, you told me on the way home that you hoped if you got a part it would be Huck Finn. And you did. 🙂

These monthly letters to our sons and photographs are a part of a circle. We will be publishing our letters on the first Fridays of every month. So please follow and check out the circle continuing with my friend, Penelope, at Penelope’s Oasis.

  1. He looks like Tom Sawyer! He is so dashing! I love that you made a list for him to remember 🙂

    • When he auditioned, I kind of thought of him as Tom Sawyer, to be honest, but he wanted Huck Finn. So I was thrilled when that was the part he was offered. 🙂

  2. Shell Feis says:

Congrats to him on his part! &How funny- I was obsessed with the Goosebumps books in 5th grade too! I can’t believe those are still a thing, I read them 15 years ago!

  3. Alison says:

Oooh I love doing a little survey! I may have to do that with Hunter in 2 months! It’ll be something nice to look back on in the future. 🙂 Mmm Mac and Cheese is my fav too!

  4. LyndaS says:

Is he going to be in a play or a movie? Congrats on getting the part, Cody.

I love the idea of a Q&A! This is really a great way to look back in a few years and remember what his personality was like.
