How to be healthy with a busy schedule

It’s a challenge for me lately to eat right.  I’m struggling with how to be healthy when I’m on the go or so busy all the time. I mean… All. The. Time. I know most parents can relate.

Between PTO duties, and volunteering a LOT at my son’s school, and extra curricular activities, my son’s homework, my blog, and the house and laundry, who has time to cook? So I’ve found myself eating out more and more lately. Not to mention finding time to exercise.

I was doing good on losing weight, too. But I’m back up two pounds, so enough is enough!

I need quick, easy, healthy recipes that use seasonal ingredients, and as equally as important — taste good!

I  found a growing selection of healthy recipes at Whisked Foodie. And I love ‘Kim in the Kitchen’ on WhiskedFoodie.com… she gives great how to/tips videos to help you out. Thank goodness, I can use all the help I can get.

I’m also loving the ‘Chef’s Table’ where I can learn some cooking techniques, like how to construct great canapes, and so much more. As well as must have kitchen gadgets and tools.

Okay, confession: I love kitchen gadgets (my hubby and I have this in common… he loves kitchen gadgets, too)! The right kitchen tool can make a big difference, I think.

If you love wine and/or cocktails, they have a great ‘Mixology’ section, too.

I think I’m getting back on track now to eating more healthily. As for exercise, I just need to prioritize, and make exercising one of my top priorities. How do you find ways to be healthy with a busy schedule?

  1. It’s not easy. When we are on the go, and have to eat out, I pick a place where I know that they have some healthy food on the menu.

  2. This is great. I needed to read this post!

  3. Great post, sometimes it is hard to think about ourselves when we are busy and taking care of others.

  4. I can completely understand what you are going through. It is 1 of the hardest things to go through. I am not even busy but it still is so hard. I wish the best of luck in completing your goals.

  5. I am still trying to figure out this balance. Last year it was easier because all the boys were in school and I had some free time. Now I am homeschooling one and there is not break in the day it seems.

  6. It is so hard. It is all about trying to find balance.

  7. It’s getting colder- and soup is a busy womans’s best friend! It’s hot filling, and low calorie. The tomato juice based ones are easiest to do, just turn on your slowcooker/crockpot, add Low sodium V8 or tomato juice, maybe some leftover veggies, cooked beans, rice or barley, ect, keep it on low, and you have a pot full ready any time you want it.

  8. I feel like I am staying very not healthy lately because of my busy schedule.
