Hammock Day
We humans have lost the wisdom of genuinely resting and relaxing. We worry too much. we don’t allow our bodies to heal, and we don’t allow our minds and hearts to heal.

Did you know that July 22 was Hammock Day? It is! This offbeat holiday is right up my alley. In fact, I think there should be several Hammock Days a year. Don’t you?

Even if you don’t have two trees to tie a hammock between they make great stand alone hammocks, now.

So in celebration of Hammock Day… go out (although it’s going to be a rainy day here) and relax on a hammock!

  1. We had a stand alone hammock but did not utilize it enough. Once my tree gets bigger and provides a bit more shade, I might look into getting another one.

  2. My hubby spent 2 years in France when we were college aged. He said everything is so much more low key there. Everyone gets 2 hours for lunch and their work weeks are so much shorter. I think sometimes we are so busy in the hustle and bustle that we don’t take the time to relax. Yay for hammock day and taking time to relax!

  3. I so wish I had a hammock to laze the afternoon away in! We have some great trees in our new backyard that would be perfect to hang one between 🙂

  5. I got a hammock last Christmas and I do have several places to hang it. I just need a free afternoon. Now I’m finding out (four days late) that there’s such a thing as hammock day and I missed it!

  6. If it was cool enough I would seek one out to enjoy – but it’s just too hot I love hammocks while on vacy though!
