first day of 7th grade pic

I can’t believe my son is already into his fourth week of school this year. I may be in the minority, but I always hate to see school start back. I love having my son home. Quite frankly, I enjoy his company. But alas, all good things must come to an end and as much as I dislike school starting back, the routine is a good thing.

Thankfully, this school year is off to a good start. He had a lot on his plate too, with being cast in a play at our local theatre during this past month, on top of all the homework, tests, and speeches for school. We are so proud of him!

lunch note from the good stuff

I always leave little notes in Cody’s lunch box, and even though he is in the 7th grade this year, it doesn’t embarrass him at all. He loves it. I know it makes him feel special, feel loved. Sometimes a child may need some extra encouragement (maybe they have a big test that day) or you want to give them a little chuckle or smile at lunch by putting a little joke with their lunch.

Mine is in college, but he’s so close (about 5 minutes by car, lol), that I can start to heat up Mexican food, cook a pizza or corn dogs, and by the time he’s home, the food is ready and he can dash either back to school or on to work. When I’m under the weather, he completely knows how to cook for himself, it just leaves him less time for eatinf
