I did my son’s room in a jungle/safari theme some time back. I was and still am very pleased with it. He loves it. At the time all I could find that I liked as far as bedding goes, was solid reversible chocolate brown/khaki comforters.
This was okay for awhile, but I really want a more jungle-themed bedding. My son has twin beds, so I need two twin-sized comforters. I’m hoping to find some animal print bedding sets. Although my son wants this sloth bedding.
Decorating a Middle School Boy’s Bedroom
I can’t decide if I want the leopard or giraffe print. Both would fit his room. I’m so pleased with the outcome. I decorated the room when he was ten, and now that he will be 13 in three months, I’m not sure if it’s still okay or not. He still seems to like it.
In fact, I know many adults with jungle themed bedrooms. He may get bored with it though at some point, but for now, he loves the African/Savannah feel to his room. And I love the jungle room decor!
Decorating a boy’s bedroom was more fun than I thought it would be, by the way.
He especially loves the big chimpanzee mural that we attached to his wall. Long story short… his room used to be a guest bedroom with a Venetian plaster treatment on the walls. So a mural wouldn’t adhere to the wall itself. So we just painted over the walls, and attached the mural to a sheet of drywall and attached it to his wall. I thought about Cut My Plastic for this project, too.
Then add some accent pieces to bring the jungle theme together and voila… you have a jungle themed boy’s bedroom.
To be honest, it’s one of my favorite rooms in our home.
Now for some reason, I can’t get the Marc Cohn song, “Walking in Memphis” out of my head.
