I always loved dancing. I can’t remember a time I didn’t love dancing. For some time I got so busy with life and work that I didn’t dance so much.
Since I’ve started my weight loss journey I’ve been more active. Mainly walking. More recently running. Have I told you I hate running? I do… but I must confess I don’t hate it as much as I did at first. I’m not sure if I’ll ever love running, though.
This past week I’ve started dancing. A lot. I had forgotten just how much I loved it.
And dancing is great exercise. It’s easy exercise for me because I enjoy it so much that it doesn’t feel like exercise.
We also went on our first hike in over 6 months yesterday. It was a 4.5+ mile easy-to-moderate hike. There were a few steep hills that reminded me how out of shape I still am… but all-in-all it was a blast. It was sunny and in the high 50s/low 60s. The nicest day we’ve seen here in awhile. Beautiful day for a hike.
I’m posting this post on Sunday, because quite frankly, Mondays are usually crazy busy for me that I forget to post my #Mamavation Monday post. But I don’t do my weekly weigh-ins until Monday morning. So I’ll update this post tomorrow morning with the results.
UPDATE: As promised…

Total weight loss: 24 pounds. I neglected to take my measurements with the exception of my waist. I didn’t take my waist measurement until about week 4. So my total inches lost around my waist was probably a good 3-4 inches more… I went from a 45 inches (I was very thick waisted) to 33 inches this morning. That’s 12 inches! Yay!
How is your weight loss journey going?
Dancing is great exercise!!
Wow what a beautiful view you have. Dancing is also my favorite thing to do and you can do it anywhere and don’t need equipment to do it.
Absolutely. I dance around my kitchen while preparing dinner a lot. 🙂
What a gorgeous hike! I love dancing too.
Awesome job on being active. I love the picture too
Looks like it was beautiful weather for hiking. Yay, for getting out and getting active!
We had a gorgeous weekend, here, Kathleen… and I took advantage of it. 🙂
Beautiful trail…I love dancing too!
Isn’t it awesome when you find an exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise?!
Dancing is great exercise.

I CANNOT dance, but I love it anyway. LOL I love Zumba because it makes me think that I have moves
Have a great week
What a beautiful trail!
I love dancing too!
I’m not into dancing or running or hiking. Walking I’ll do, LOL! I wish it were nice enough here to walk outside already, I’m getting tired of using the treadmill.
That trail looks amazing. So relaxing. I look forward to better spring weather so I can take my girls on some trails!
That’s a gorgeous picture! Congrats on your weight loss!!
I love this kind of joyous post. Do things that you enjoy like dancing. For me I love being outside and the hiking picture resonates. Congrats on the weight loss and continue to explore your joy with how you move.
We can get so overwhelmed by our day-to-day responsibilities that we forget about taking care of ourselves. Thank you for sharing your desire to dance!
I just participated in a Zumba class this morning and had a blast!
Congrats on the weight loss and for being more active!! And let me just say that 6 months ago, I was saying the same exact thing, “I hate running”, but now, I actually love it! So, you never know.
funny but I don’t love running either, but I started doing it and got into it, then my PT pulled the plug and now I miss it.
You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
You have done an AMAZING job!!!! So proud of you and happy for you. 🙂
