Today’s Monday Listicles is 10 things about birthdays. Stasha over at The good life made a list of 10 reasons birthdays are no good. I have the opposite take. So for my Monday Listicles, it’s 10 things I love about birthdays:
1. It’s better than the alternative.
2. My hubby treats me like a princess every day, but on my birthday, he treats me even more special.
3. The homemade card from my son.
4. I do become wiser with age. Oh, I’ll still make mistakes, but luckily I learn from them.
5. I love celebrating other people’s birthdays. Especially those close to me.
6. I love surprises.
7. It’s better than the alternative (I know I said it already, but it bears repeating).
8. I love birthday cake.
9. I really do love and appreciate all the Facebook birthday wishes.
10. I love that there is one day a year that everyone has that IS their special day.

#1, 7, and 8 are fantastic. Love the whole list!
@Jill – seriously, #1 and 7 are very important reasons. 🙂
I like your list!! Especially #1 and #2!
@Emily – yep, pretty good reasons, I think. 🙂
I don’t like birthdays except for the cake!
I bet as you get older you’ll appreciate them more and more!
I don’t like them either — now that I’m almost 60. Although I DO love getting gifts. 😉
Love this Donna!! You just made me look forward to my next birthday. It is all about the perspective. Thanks girl!!
Well, I didn’t always feel this way. 🙂
What a great list. Indeed, celebrating a birthday is better than not, in my books. As cheesy as it is, I like the facebook wishes too.
I know, I thought about not putting that on my list, but I really do like those FB wishes. 😀
I do agree with you. I think it’s great that everyone has their special day. And homemade cards are the best.
I know, Jamie, I never would have dreamed I would love homemade cards so much!
A great list though if someone at a restaurant sings to me #1 and #7 don’t seem like such a bad alternative to me.
Ha! My hubby is the same way. He really does not like it if he is sung to at restaurants. 🙂
I love that I get Carvel Cake! 🙂
Birthdays= cake, love, and maybe a time out for mommy! What’s not to love!
@Elaina – Ab.so.lute.ly! 🙂
Very nice list! Birthdays are awesome!
It IS better than the alternative, but I really prefer to overlook mine!
My Mom always made sure that our birthday was truly special and now I do that with my husband and son.
I love cards made by my kids.
it absolutely is better than the alternative. 🙂
I love birthdays too! I know so many people start hating them the older they get, but it’s inevitable, so why hate? Hehe, like you said – any day above ground is a good one! 😛
Amen to #1! I try to remember that as I grow older.
I agree, love the list, and my bday is coming up!
Ah I love #10! Its even better when you don’t have to share it when anyone you know!
I love birthdays too. I just celebrated one and my favorite part is the time with family.
I love your list! Here’s to many, many more special days for all of us!
Who doesn’t love some birthday cake!!
one reason: cake! lol
Lovely list and I NEED that cake…right now. Please?
I completely agree with your take! Especially #1 and 7, we have to celebrate our birthdays cause the older we get the fewer there are!!
I love other people’s birthdays too, because it gives me an excuse to eat cake!
Birthdays rally are better than the alternative. I’m glad you mentioned it twice. And birthday cake is the best! (I also like the FB wishes). Ellen
Great list – I celebrated a birthday a few weeks ago and I’m always happy to 🙂
That is one cool list!
I love birthdays! I love my birthday, my hubby’s, my kids’… everyone! I love presents and balloons and CAKE! And yes, it is ALWAYS better than the alternative. 🙂
