  1. Fun post! I’m surprised about how much is spent on greeting cards. My husband and I saw some when we were at Target the other day and we were wondering when greeting cards became a part of Halloween! But I guess someone must be buying them. 🙂

  2. It amazes me that the top two selling candies contain peanuts and/or peanut butter. Those would never fly in our house with nut allergies.

  3. @Virginia – my absolute favorite candy bar is Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups… I am so glad there’s no nut allergies here. But I agree, it seems like there’s a lot of nut allergies, so I am surprised that both top selling candies do contain peanuts/peanut butter.

  4. I never bother with decorations, but that’s because my kids are too old to trick or treat. However, we get a very high number of candy desirers, and even if we only give out one per person, we go through over $50 in candy each year.

  5. @Amy, @Tesa, and @Anne – I think dentist are behind them (and all taffy candy). 🙂
