What Real Beauty Means to Me + Mother’s Day $350 Giveaway

I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older that I feel more confident… in every aspect of my life. When I was younger, there was no way I’d leave my house without a full face of makeup on.

No. Way.

Don’t get me wrong, I still wear makeup most days because I love makeup. I am a true makeup junkie. I love playing with colors and, well, I’m just girly like that. However, I know that beauty, real beauty, comes from within.

It doesn’t matter how physically beautiful you are, if you’re not a nice person on the inside, it seeps out and you will become ugly on the outside.

“Beauty is as beauty does.”

I’ve been known to experiment with hair color, bangs or no bangs, etc. but it doesn’t matter what you look on the outside (although good makeup doesn’t hurt), real beauty is on the inside.

Wisdom sure does come with age. Now, as a woman in my fifties (although I have to admit that it sounds surreal to say 50s) I appreciate the real beauty in myself as well as others. Yet, there is nothing wrong in wanting to enhance or accentuate your natural beauty, in my opinion.

What real beauty means to me is — confidence, intelligence, kindness, compassion, and strength (not physical strength)… I am a very lucky woman in that I am surrounded by real beauty; I have women in my life like my Mom, my best friends, and aunts, that encompass all that is beauty.

In fact, I’ve always surrounded myself with beautiful women who are truly just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.

I think if you’re confident on the inside, it will come through on the outside, and makeup can just enhance what is already gorgeous about YOU!

I think my eyes are my best physical feature, so I always play them up. I also think that a smile brings out the beauty in everyone… so smile!

If you’re like me, I know your mom is one of the most beautiful women you know. And on that note, I’d like to help celebrate all the beautiful moms out. With Mother’s Day coming up soon, now is a great time to do that…
