I Did An Evergreen Fridge Hunt #choosecartons

ChooseCartons

I took a challenge to look inside my fridge… I mean, really, look inside my fridge. And what did I find? Well, besides the leftovers, and yummy veggies I just got out of my f-i-l's garden, I found a mixture of cartons and plastic containers, but thankfully, more paper cartons.

My milk was in a plastic container, as well as the orange juice. I also had 3 paper cartons of juices, as well as a beef and chicken broth cartons. I very well could buy my milk and OJ in cartons. And, have made a pledge to my family that I will choose more greener and sustainable options from now on.

So from this day on, I will choose cartons when it is an option. And, I'll notice the next few times that I go to the store… but I should be able to make all my purchases cartons. No more plastic. Here's some of the I discovered about paper cartons:

I don't know about you, but I am adamant about plastic being BPA Free. And for us, we just avoid plastic as much as possible, because frankly, it's just too hard to make sure, or worse, to figure out if the plastic bottles on the market are BPA-free. Not to mention the numbers — which ones are safe? Are they microwave-safe? Are they safe to reuse?

So I've decided to avoid the problem whenever possible, and go with paper cartons. Check out this video on how to recycle your cartons:
