Start Simple, Start Right… with Kellogg’s ‘Seed to Spoon’

As a mom, I worry all the time about my son’s nutrition. He is a picky eater. Mind you, not as picky as he use to be, but still rather picky. So I fret that he doesn’t get the vitamins and nutrients he needs as a growing boy.

Breakfast is particularly difficult. He only eats bacon and/or cereal. Luckily Kellogg’s has great choices for me to choose from as far as cereals go. Growing up my Mom never allowed us to eat too much cereal and the only brand I remember her ever buying was Kellogg’s.

So it is a brand I trust… not to mention the good memories of family it invokes within me. I definitely can rally behind the Kellogg’s campaign — Start Simple, Start Right.

My two favorites have always been Raisin Bran and Rice Krispies. My son loves Rice Krispies!

All I know is that I feel good knowing that we can share a simple and wholesome breakfast together as a family in the mornings. (Although, cereal makes a great snack, too).

I love that Kellogg’s cereals have just a handful of simple ingredients. Seriously. Many of the cereals have an average of only 4 ingredients. Ingredients that everyone is familiar with and can pronounce. And they’re fortified with many of the vitamins and minerals that families need.

What’s not to love about that?

This is referred to as “Seed to Spoon”… the approach that Kellogg’s takes to make their cereals. Check out these videos to see what I’m talking about:

My family and I enjoyed the cereal we received from Kellogg’s through Mom Central. We ate these cereals…

My favorites are still Raisin Bran and Rice Krispies Original (love that they have the gluten free, too). My son loves Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes. I definitely feel good feeding my family these Kellogg’s cereals. At least I don’t need to worry about what my son eats for breakfast. Now as for lunch… uh, that’s for another post.

What’s your favorite Kellogg’s cereal?

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kellogg’s. I received sample products to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

  1. I think my favorite from the above list is raisin bran – I have a wierd obsession with raisins…love them in a lot of stuff….not so much on their own – go figure. I like Raisin Bran because the raisins sweeten the bran.

  2. I’m not a big cereal fan (my husband and son are), but I do like Rice Krispies once in awhile.
