One of the biggest expenses during the school year is lunches. Whether you pay for school lunch or pack your kids’ lunch, 170 or so days a year of lunches add up.
I also like to give my son a variety to choose from, so that his lunches aren’t boring or he doesn’t get tired of the same thing.
I was so excited when my doorbell rang because I knew it was my Jet order. I three boxes full of yummy things my son will love having packed in his lunch bag.
Back to School Lunch, Snack, and Breakfast Foods
My first big save was on Gatorade. I ordered 3 – 8 packs for a total of 24 – 20 oz. bottles. This will get him through the first month of school.
He loves Pringles chips, so I ordered him the Pringles Potato Crisps, Variety Pack, 18 Ct, as well as Cheez-It Variety Pack, 12 Ct. That’s a month supply of chips to pack in his lunch.
I usually pack him ham and cheese or turkey and cheese roll-ups, but thought I’d let him mix it up with tuna. So I ordered the StarKist Lunch To-Go Tuna Kit. If he likes it, I’ll be ordering more.
I ordered Slim Jim Mild Smoked Snack Sticks, 15 CT, to alternate with cheese sticks in his lunch.
With his tuna, ham & cheese, or turkey & cheese roll-ups, along with chips, Slim Jim, fruit, and Gatorade (and he always has his refillable water bottle of water), he has a nice balanced lunch.
To start his mornings off on the right foot I ordered him Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts Value Pack, Frosted Chocolate Chip and Nutri-Grain Cereal Bars, Variety Pack. It’s important that our kids start their days off with breakfast and since my son want’s to sleep as late as he can and we are so busy in the mornings, Pop-Tarts and cereal bars are a good option for us.
Oh, I almost forgot… being a freshman in high school, my son now is concerned about his breathe, so he wanted me to put some breath mints in his lunch bag. I ordered one of my favorites, Tic Tac Wintergreen.
Now he’s all set.
We are excited about this new year, even if I am feeling a little anxious about having a son in high school.
HURRY and take advantage of an exclusive SAVE15 code at checkout (this offer is only available for first time Jet.com users on your first three orders). See site for details.
I ended up saving over $15 on my order and considerably more since I didn’t have to pay shipping. I know the Gatorade was heavy and the shipping would have been $6 for the drinks alone.
I feel good knowing my son has some of his favorite lunch and snack foods, as well as breakfast foods, to start this next milestone in his life.
