5 Reasons To Choose Apartment Living

I received compensation for this post. All opinions about apartment living are 100% my own.

When we first moved to Tennessee we didn’t know anything about the area we were moving to. At the time we didn’t have a child, so choosing a home in an area with good schools wasn’t even on our radar. One thing we knew for sure was that we didn’t want to buy a home, at least not at first. So apartment hunting was our ideal choice.

5 Reasons To Choose Apartment Living

Try Before You Buy

Especially if you are moving to a new state or an area you are unfamiliar with, it’s smart to rent an apartment until you discover where you would want to make a commitment like buying a home. And even though we didn’t have our son when we first moved to a different state, we knew it was important to live in a good school zone, just in case we did have children in the future.

Big City Life

Maybe you want to live the big city life… be in the center of everything. Apartment living in the city is a great way to live. You don’t have to worry about the commitment of owning a home and you can easily enjoy all the benefits of city life.

More Economical

Apartment living can cost you less in heating and cooling, water and electricity. And sometimes you can even have your utilities included in your rent. You can also save on your insurance bill – although you should have renter’s insurance, it’s generally less than homeowner’s insurance.

Less Maintenance

If you own your own home there’s constant upkeep. When something goes wrong you have to fix/repair it. Whether it’s the heat pump, roof, a leaky faucet, or a mold problem, you are the one responsible. When you live in an apartment the maintenance is usually covered by the landlord, giving you one less thing to worry about.

Amenities

If you live in an apartment complex you may get amenities like a swimming pool, gym, covered parking, and security. As a homeowner, you may or may not have these certain amenities and if you do, you will be paying extra to get them.

It’s easy to get caught up in the “Must be a homeowner” mentality, but there are some good reasons why you really may be more suited for apartment living like the North Bergen Apartments.

I know the time that we were apartment living was a great experience, affording us time to find the home that was right for us and helping us to save money for a down payment for our home.
