Today’s topic in the “30 Things I Want My Son To Know About Me” is, “What are 5 passions you have?” I thought this question would be tough, but three of the five came to me extremely easily… I had to think a few minutes on the other two.
According to the Merriam-Webster, passion is defined as – “a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something.”
Without further ado, here are my 5 passions:
I am passionate about being a mom.
I will admit it even sounds a little odd to say it, since I just knew I never wanted children. It’s true, from the time I was fourteen until my mid-thirties, I didn’t want to have a child. Never. And now… I could not imagine my life without him. I am passionate about being a mom. I am passionate about being MY son’s mom.
I am passionate about being a wife
I am equally passionate about being a wife. Probably because I am married to the most amazing man. I feel that I fall short sometimes, okay, maybe a lot, but I am passionate about being a good wife to my husband. I’m passionate about marriage, about spending the rest of my life with someone who feels the same way I do. Even after 23 years together we still have passion in our marriage, but this passion goes beyond that…
I am passionate about being a blogger/writer.
I’ve shared many times my love of writing and how much I am thankful for my blog. It IS my passion. I enjoy blogging immensely. It is more than just the writing… blogging entails a lot. From setting up a blog, learning html, looking for plug-ins, running ads, and working with brands and sponsored posts to reviewing products, and sharing recipes, crafts, and my personal life/story (and much more) it brings me great pleasure.
I am passionate about food.
This is one passion I kind of wish I didn’t have, but it is what it is. I love food. I love the act of eating. I love how it makes me feel. I love connecting with family and friends over a good meal. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes.
I am passionate about music.
Music really is the universal language, bringing people who may never have otherwise connected. Music can take you back to a time and place. It floods you with memories, sometimes bad, but usually good. I love to dance and sing (although I can not do the latter at all) and the emotions that music provides. Listening to music can calm me or pump me up.
I want to add that I also have a strong passion for reading — but reading just for the pleasure of reading has taken a backseat lately. I need to ignite that passion again.
