How to Apply Blush for Your Face Shape

I don’t think there are any truly right ways to apply blush, but there are ways to get the most rosy glow from your blush and better ways to accentuate your cheeks/cheekbones based on your face shape.

How do you apply blush for your face shape – Check out these tips/ideas:

If you have a long face shape, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend out towards your temples.

If you have an oval face shape, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend with a blush brush.

If you have a round face shape, you can get a slimming effect by applying your blush in an angular motion from the apples of your cheeks to your temples.

If you have a square face shape (with a stronger jawline), apply your blush with a linear motion a few inches from the sides of your nose.

If you have a heart shape face, apply blush along the bottom of your cheekbones (similar to the way you would add contour).

My best advice is to find a blush you like (check out some of my faves below) and experiment… maybe ask a good friend what she thinks.

I have a round face shape. I think lol. I put the blush like it says so I guess I am good. Also, I am so in love with that Revolution Palette!!! I am going to put it on my amazon wishlist and when I get more money I am totally going to buy it at the beginning of March! unless I don’t win that much from crowdtap but if I win enough plus what I have already I am totally getting it by march/april the latest! Do you use crowdtap? I love it! I win anywhere from $15-40 every month but I wish I would win more because I am in the number one spots a lot or have like 4200 points/etries… I think they should exclude the ppl that don’t participate a lot from the large $50-100 prizes…

Great tips! I have a rounder face and was originally told to color the apple of my cheeks and swipe upward towards my Temples… I think that made my face look even more round. These tips make much more sense. The Revolution set looks great.

I feel silly for admitting this, but I’ve never known what shape face I have. I jsut don’t know. I was actually talking to my boyfried about it the other day and he didn’t know either. And yes, I do, have a favorite blush. It is the only one I use.
