Wash Your Makeup Brushes

Did you know that your makeup brushes can be a significant breeding ground for germs and bacteria? It’s true. People rarely clean away all the makeup that collects on them, and all that dirt and grime attracts high numbers of nasty organisms. And all of these germs will get onto your skin and cause acne and blackheads.

So, it’s important that you regularly wash your brushes. You can do this using a weak solution of dishwashing liquid and warm water. Remember to rinse them well. To sanitize your brushes, pour alcohol into a small jar and swirl your brushes around in it for a few seconds and allow them to completely dry.

If you have tried a variety of different acne preventative methods but are still plagued by spots and red blemishes, you might be at the end of your rope.

Don’t panic, though. There is one option you might not have tried yet, a professional treatment. There are lots of dermatologists out there, such as CLDerm.com, that specialize in laser treatments that can effectively remove acne and spots for good.

If you aren’t sure which dermatologist to use, you should speak to your doctor as he or she might be able to refer you to one.

Eat Some Nuts

Did you know that Brazil nuts are exceptionally good for your skin? That’s because they are fantastic sources of selenium. Not only does this reduce the oil content in your skin, but it also improves its suppleness and has been linked to reducing the risk of skin cancer.

It’s also a good idea to snack on walnuts as well as these have high levels of Omega 3 fatty acids which can also reduce the appearance of acne.

Clean Your Smartphone

There are lots of studies, including healthland.time.com, that show our smartphones can be as unhygienic as a toilet seat. And all those germs, just like the ones that might be lurking on your makeup brush, can contribute to your acne. Obviously, you can’t dip your phone in a bowl of water, but there is a safer way to sanitize it.

You can simply wipe it down with an antibacterial wipe once a day. It’s also a good idea to not lend your phone to anyone else while you are suffering from acne, as you might pass on the bacteria that caused your breakouts.

Once you start to use these great tips, you will find that your acne starts to clear up. You might forget you ever had it!
