What is the Best Advice Your Mom Gave You?

This is a sponsored post. All opinions about the best advice moms give are 100% my own.

I was giving my son some advice recently, and hopefully, he listened… but it got me to thinking of all the advice my mother gave me over the years. It also got me to wondering what the best advice your Mom gave you.

I personally think every piece of advice my mom gave me was good, even when I was younger and thought she couldn’t possibly know best. Hence, why I’m not sure if my son took my advice. Although, mothers and sons, just like fathers and daughters, have a special kind of bond.

I’m a Southern girl born and raised and I think that being raised by a Southern mama gives to some unique pieces of advice — it is a Southern thing. Or should I say, “Southern thang.”

Some of the pieces of advice I’ve heard over the years from my Mom, aunts, and my friend’s moms were things like…

Seriously, all great pieces of advice. Now that I’m a bit older, I definitely agree with, “Pee every chance you get.” In all seriousness, southern moms really do give the best advice.

The best advice my mom has given me is to “Be yourself, and be true to yourself”. She never wants me to compromise my honor, my integrity, or my feelings, and to be myself. Whether others like it or not.

I can relate to Sam Haskell in his book “Promises I Made My Mother”. Probably because he grew up in the South and I’m a mom to a son. You should check it out, especially if you’re a mom.

It’s a tough job being a mom, in fact, the hardest job I’ve ever had. But I can honestly say it has been the most rewarding. And I hope one day that my son will say that his mom gave him the best advice. Only time will tell.
