6 Ways to Look and Feel Younger

I love makeup. I loved playing with my Mom’s makeup when I was a young girl. I couldn’t wait to have my own job so I could buy my own makeup. As I’ve gotten older I’ve developed a few fine lines and wrinkles and I’ve been finding it difficult to find a foundation that doesn’t set into my lines (and pores) and accentuates them.

I want something that will cover over the lines, hide the dark spots, and most importantly for me, hide my large pores, and of  course make me look younger. This is why I love the new L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation.

I remember when I turned thirty… I was not happy about it. Yes, I was happy I was alive and well, but I have to admit, I wasn’t thrilled about being thirty.

But during my thirties, and especially my forties, I found myself. What I mean by that is, I discovered who I was and what I really wanted out of life. I came into my own.

I turned fifty (and sometimes that does sound surreal to me) this past April and the way I feel about my fifties is that I’ve taken flight.

I found myself in my forties and taken flight in my fifties… I am ready to soar.

Thankfully with age comes wisdom (hopefully). I’ve learned that I need to do things to take care of myself, inside and out, so that I can look and feel my best. And just because I’m more comfortable in my own skin, now, doesn’t mean I don’t want to look younger.

Hey, I do not feel fifty, why should I look fifty? And just because I love being fifty doesn’t mean I want to look it, right?! I have my own beauty routine, that now includes the new L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation, and I’d like to share them with you.

Here are 6 Ways to Look and Feel Younger:

Protect Your Skin

I believe everyone should get out in the sun. Every single day that the sun is out, you should spend at least a few minutes soaking in the suns rays. However, you should never get out in the sun unprotected. Use sunscreen.

Take this one from me… I was a sun worshiper, and more than likely it’s the culprit to most of my fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots. I think you need to get sunshine every day, though, and as long as you slather on the sunscreen, you’ll be much happier for it.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

Drink water. It’s really that simple. As for how much? Honestly, you hear so many different things regarding the amount of water you should drink each day. I know the most popular is 8 glasses of water a day. If you don’t drink water at all, just add a glass or two a day.

Our skin needs to be hydrated, so some water is better than nothing, and even coffee and tea is water. You can also do flavored water if plain water is just too difficult to swallow.

Sleeping Beauty

Unlike Sleeping Beauty you don’t need to sleep 100 years, but getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night will keep you healthier and looking younger. A well-rested face will show less stress. So get your beauty sleep.

Get Moving

Just 20 minutes a day is all it takes to improve your overall well being. You’re skin also benefits from sweating out the impurities when you exercise.

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

I know this one is easier said than done. However, I am going to tell you that stress will make you sick. It will age you. It will kill you. Try meditation or just a few minutes a day in quiet reflection. Maybe give yoga a try. Or practice deep breathing and counting to 10.

I’m a work in progress as far as de-stressing goes, but I can say it is getting easier. I’m learning to say, “No” more, and learning to just let things go.

Good Beauty Products

You can’t beat a good skin routine. You don’t have to spend a lot of money either. If you use a good facial cleanser, moisturize daily, and wear a good foundation, your face can look younger.

A date night wearing my L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation… I got several compliments that night. 🙂

As I mentioned above I’ve been wearing the new L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation and I am loving how it blurs my fine lines and wrinkles. Leaving my face looking smoother and younger. It feels so light that I don’t feel like I’m wearing makeup… now that’s a bonus!

I definitely recommend L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation if you have fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, and/or large pores.

These are easy things we can all do, and I guarantee you, if you do them on a regular basis, you will look and feel your best.
