Thank you to Fooz Kids for providing me with an All-In-One pack to review. The opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.
I spend a great deal of my time online. Between social media outlets, researching, and working, I am very aware of the dangers out there on the internet. So I'm diligent about keeping my son safe when he is on our computer or iPad.
My son enjoys playing some online games, but takes after me… he loves researching and looking things up. He asks to look up how things work, or information about Star Wars, Lego, and most importantly Star Wars Lego. His absolute favorite things. And it goes without saying that we've always allowed him access to our computers for educational purposes.
But we've always sat with him while he is on the PC. It's just too easy to accidently access a website that is totally inappropriate for a child. So he has never been able to get on the computer with out parental guidance.
That has recently changed, thanks to Fooz Kids. Now, my son can play games, do his research, and learn, while I can monitor his time spent online. I use the parental settings to set what sites he can have access to… this way I know what and where he can go. Then I can check at any time, to see what he's been doing. And, I love the Fooz Kids University. For grades Pre-K thru 5th grade, they can do lessons and I can track their progress.
Here are some screenshots of some of the things my son has been doing:
There is still so much more for my son to explore. He's eight years old and already a little computer whiz, so he has no touble navigating through Fooz Kids. It's easy for him to find the application on my desktop. The most important thing for me is that Fooz Kids gives me some peace of mind. One less thing to worry about. I know I worry about enough when it comes to my son.
Oh, in the image above of his virtual room… that's me. He put his mommy in his room! I'm so flattered. Yeah, I know, as soon as he starts having friends use Fooz Kids and he connects with them — dear ol' mommy will be gone.
