Original Review brought to you by
Mommy and We
If you haven’t read the Fifty Shades Trilogy by E L James yet, you’re missing out! I’ll admit that I was hesitant to read it at first. I saw so many bad reviews on Amazon I was afraid to waste my money. But then a friend of mine recommended it and I thought, “What the?”…..I read it and I loved it! By the end of Fifty Shades of Grey, I had laughed, cried, cringed and wished I were Ana more times than I could count!
Everyone is complaining about the BDSM…I’m not sure what the complaints are about. It’s NOT all about the bondage and the dominance. It’s about Grey and Ana finding themselves. The bdsm is second-place to the loving, HEALTHY relationship they form. Well, maybe not healthy. But healthier than the previous ones that Grey has had.
Fifty Shades is very graphic in the sex department, however, I didn’t find it any more so than a lot of other books I’ve read and maybe even LESS so than some. I’m not sure what everyone’s problem with it is…especially that there would be a reason for anyone to want to ban or burn it. WOW! As a society, people need to grow up & deal with the real problems in the world.
Reading to me is an escape from the everyday pressures. If you don’t like what a book is about, don’t pick it up. Don’t read it. Certainly don’t burn it.
I suggest everyone read Fifty Shades of Grey and look beyond the sex. Beyond the BDSM to the relationship and love that lay underneath. Maybe we could all learn a few things about ourselves and our own relationships.
