Second, you need to consider the impact moving will have on your children, if you have any. If your child is close to taking exams such as GCSE’s etc. moving will not be the greatest idea, since it is going to affect their education in a negative way. Be sure to know what level your child is working at in terms of the education system in the country you wish to move to.

Consider finances. Chances are that when you first move, neither you nor your spouse will have a job immediately. Ensure that you have enough savings to keep you going whilst you are settling in and job hunting. Not accounting for this time period will leave you struggling and disappointed.

Decide how you are going to get there. There are many different transportation methods, from ferries to planes. Decide on the easiest, cheapest, most convenient way for you and your family.
