Teacher Appreciation – Say it with Flowers

This is Teacher Appreciation week at my son’s school, and today is flower day.

It could be a single flower from your own garden, a bunch of wildflowers, a flower(s) from your local grocery store, or flowers delivered from a florist. Just show your appreciation for your teacher with flowers.

Here’s one of the things my son and I decided to do for his teacher for teacher appreciation week…

flower pot from a watering can teacher appreciation idea

What you’ll need:

This is one of those DIY’s that’s pretty self-explanatory. Just add rocks (gravel, etc.) for drainage (although holes can be drilled in the bottom of the watering can) and some potting soil. Add your plant/flower and more potting soil and water.

Add a monogram letter on the front (I put one on both sides) with the letter of your child’s teacher’s last name.

And add a pair of gardening gloves to give it a finished look. Plus, who couldn’t use an extra pair of gardening gloves?

What teacher appreciation gift have you made for your child’s teacher this year?

  1. That is a really cute idea!! I think it is great to show teachers they are appreciated for all the hard work they do through the year!

  2. Love this idea Donna!

Now that the kids are teens they’re buying a book, dedicating it to a teacher who inspired them and donating it to the school library.

But something like this is more personable. I know my daughter would like to make something like this for a couple teachers.

Thanks for sharing this idea hun! Hope all is well :).
