Letters to Our Sons – March 2013

Dear Cody,

I know February is a short month, but wow, this month has flown by. It’s been a good month and a busy month for us. There was Valentines Day, Daddy’s birthday, and your Mommy and Daddy’s anniversary.

You got a much needed hair cut this month.

You won a blue ribbon for your demonstration speech in 4H and will go on to compete on the county level in March. You worked hard and made building a video game character (Mario) out of LEGO so fun!

You made a cute and funny Valentines box for school… Valempire. You had to turn that smiley face into something more sinister fun, by adding fangs and making him a vampire. We love it.

You finished up your Voice and Diction class at KCT. We were so proud of your performance. You nailed it. We were so impressed and in awe once again at your professionalism, creativity, and talent on stage.

You’ve continued to do great in school. You finished the Hunger Games Trilogy and you’re working on being more responsible. I’ve also realized that you and I are very much alike. Your personality is like mine, in many ways. Not sure if that is good or bad… it is what it is. πŸ™‚

Now here it is the last day of February and it’s snowing with temps in the 20s with the wind-chill factor. It’s cold and we are so ready for spring, but I have enjoyed every single minute of the month of February.

I am so proud of you, my son, and I’m looking forward to seeing what is in store for us in March.

I love you with all my heart.

~Mom

Shell – I tell my husband all the time that I think I know what it must have been like as a parent to Jim Carey, because Cody reminds me of what I would pictured him to have been like as a child. lol.

  2. Sounds like your son is a lot of fun :-). A big congrats to him on so many accomplishments! I love the taking a break picture. So cool!

  3. That taking a break picture is incredible!! I love it!

  4. I love writing letters to my sons. Once a year I sit down and write each of them a heart-felt letter. I wasn’t sure if my boys read them, kept them for awhile and chucked them out until recently. We got talking about my sentimentality when both boys admitted they have both kept their letters all of these years. My heart melted!

My husband did it using an iPad app. I can’t remember which one, but I’ll check with him when he comes home. I loved it, too!
