Letters to Our Sons: Halloween Edition – November 2013

Dear Cody,

One of your favorite months and time of year has just been wrapped up with you going out trick-or-treating. You have had a blast this month helping decorate for Halloween.Β  We went to KCT’s annual Halloween party. And to Cherokee Caverns for some hauntingly fun cave trick-or-treating.

Halloween 2013

You and Daddy picked out a couple of new Halloween decorations for the house, and you’ve had a ball being creepy in your Grim Reaper costume. And you got to pick out a few pumpkins from the Fruit & Berry Patch.

You couldn’t pick just one, and ended up with three, plus two little tiny ones.
My Grim Reaper 1
Ah, my sweet Grim Reaper!
Ready for Halloween Party
Going to the annual KCT Halloween party. I am some kind of Vampiress. I had some fangs, but they just weren’t working.
What are you doing, Cody 1
Seriously, I don’t know what you were doing… but it’s things like this that happen when you and your Dad have “guy time. πŸ˜‰

Besides all the spooky, creepy, fun this month, you got your first report card with all A’s. Congratulations on working so hard this first 9-weeks. You are such a smart boy. We also saw “Mulan” at Knoxville Children’s Theatre and it was amazing. A great show put on by a talented group of kids. And you can’t wait to see “Mousetrap”, soon.

Greg and Cody in Balloon 1
Technically this photo works since you both enjoyed scaring me while we were 400+ feet in the air.

We got to go to the Hollywood Wax Museum and Wonder Works in Pigeon Forge over Fall break. I think the highlight for you, though, was laughing at your mommy when we were in the Helium balloon 400+ feet above Pigeon Forge. But my day will come, young man.Β  LOL.

And as usual, you and your daddy spent a lot of “guy” time. He loves picking you up from school and hanging out with you at least 2-3 times a week.

You also got a haircut this month. The first one in awhile. It makes you look older (which makes me a wee bit sad), but you look so handsome. I love your hair long or short, though.

Haircut 2013
Okay, you do have a zombie shirt on. LOL! Seriously, I had to include a photo showing your new haircut since it had been over 6 months since you’d had one. πŸ™‚
Long hair or Short hair milkshake pic
For the same reason as the photo above this one. πŸ™‚

It seemed like October just flew by… I know you’re excited about November – some big things going on this coming month. I’ll talk about it in my next letter to you.

Keep up the good work, my sweet boy, and know that we are incredibly proud of you.

Happy Halloween! I love you with all my heart!

~Mom

  1. I love the costumes! Sadly, my family didn’t get to go trick-or-treating, because it had been raining off and on throughout the day. To top it off, there were tornado warnings! The funny thing is, it seems like it rains EVERY Halloween here. πŸ™‚

We were afraid we were going to get rained out, but it held off until around 11pm last night. And it was VERY windy all night. So sorry your kiddos didn’t get to go trick-or-treating. πŸ™
