Have you been a victim of identity theft?

vJPrys

Fortunately, I've never been a victim of identity theft… but it's a fear of mine. I worry about things like this, especially when things are so economically bad. And the last thing I want is for someone to ruin my credit score. Hey, I've worked hard to have good credit.

A friend reminded me that I should get a free credit score just to be on the safe side. So I'm going to get right on that; better safe than sorry, I always say.

There are three major areas where identities are stolen the most — those are:

  • Computer – a lot of PC users don't realize how dangerous the internet can be
  • Mail – our mail can contain a lot of sensitive information
  • Trash – many people throw away a lot of personal information

We must be more diligent in protecting ourselves. Because the hassles of clearing your name and credit after identity theft is something no one wants to go through. If we take a few precautions and safeguards towards protecting ourselves, our credit will thank us.

Have you received a free credit score, recently? It might be worth it to check. And I'd love to hear your tips on keeping your identity safe… so please share them with us!!
