These are a few of my favorite things… #ad #greatstarts

Everyone has their favorite season (mine’s summer), favorite movie, and favorite song. We all have a “favorite” something/everything.

I was thinking about a few of my favorite things recently. I love snow days – when my son gets to stay home from school and we play in the snow and play board games all day.  So in particular, I was thinking about my favorite things about this time of year (which seem to involve getting healthy) and I was inspired by Team Kellogg’s Tip #30.

These are a few of my favorite things…

Kellogg's Frosted Mini-Wheats #greatstarts favorite cerealMy Favorite Cereal

Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats (and Kellogg’s Corn Pops are a very close second). They both bring back childhood memories for me. Still to this day, they are my favorites. My Mom’s favorite cereal was Frosted Mini-Wheats so she always had them in the pantry. I think that’s why they became my favorite cereal. Still to this day I think of her when I eat a bowl of Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats.

Kellogg's Special K Protein Bars #greatstarts My favorite snackMy Favorite Snacks

Kellogg’s Special K Protein Snack Bars and fresh fruit. I sometimes eat a banana before I workout and if I’ve had a really good workout, I love the Kellogg’s Special K Protein bars as a post-workout snack.

Favorite Warm-Up

Jumping Jacks (my son loves doing jumping jacks with me). In fact, my son and I have jumping jack challenges to see who can do the most. Shew… he wears me out! I wish I could say, “I let him win”, but truth be told, he solid beats me.

Favorite Exercise

Planks and squats (and strength training). I know many people hate planks and squats, but I love them. I’ve been slacking this winter, and it’s tough to get back into the routine, so planks and squats are tough.

But once I get back into doing them, they are by far my favorite exercises. I love that burn.

Favorite Winter Sport (to watch)

Ice skating. When I was a little girl, I’d watch the ice skaters on TV and be enchanted at their beauty and grace. Unfortunately, ice skating was something I could not do. Nope. I was too clumsy and had no balance. It didn’t stop me from pretending I could do what the ice skaters were doing on TV, though. I would “skate” around in my sock feet on the wood floors. Ah, the imagination of the young.
