Can you believe summer is almost over? I can’t! My son starts back to school Wednesday. Two of my best friends and I thought it would be nice to have an end of summer – back to school party for our children. I went to Walmart to pick up some supplies and as I started past the Hallmark aisle, I wondered what creative card ideas for an end of summer BTS party I could come up with…

We decided on a pool party. A pool party was the perfect way to say good-bye to the end of summer break and celebrate the start of a new school year! One of them will be just starting Kindergarten and three of them will be starting middle school — definitely cause for celebration!

I love the Hallmark Rewards program. And along with Hallmark’s value cards,  you can turn any celebration or party into something really special. Which is exactly what I did for our end of summer pool party. Walmart had such a great selection to choose from, too. I saw so many card idea while checking out the Hallmark value cards aisle.

I knew I needed to get cards for 6 kids, ranging in age from 5 to 12. I was able to find a different card for each child that was perfect for them. Of course, adding your own sentiments to cards make them extra special — and this group of kids were so easy to write personal messages to… I love, admire, and adore these kids.

I was truly touched at how much these kids enjoyed their cards. The hugs and thank-yous were so heartfelt and made my day.

As much as I hate that summer is ending, I am excited for the school year ahead for these smart, funny, kind-hearted kids. I know they will accomplish amazing things.

Thanks to my two dear friends, I think we pulled off a great end of summer/back-to-school party.
