‘An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving’ premiers on the Hallmark Channel

If you’re in the mood to watch a good Thanksgiving movie this weekend, you’re in good company.  And tonight, November 22, 2008, at 9:00 pm on the Hallmark Channel, they will be airing the original movie An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving.

From HallmarkChannel.com,

Mary (Helene Joy) and her 3 children have hit difficult times on their farm. This year, they cannot even afford a turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner. Suddenly, Mary’s wealthy and estranged mother Isabella (Jacqueline Bisset) has come to visit. Isabella wants to help but, in the end, more than money will be needed to heal the emotional wounds that exist between mother and daughter in this moving Hallmark Channel original period drama.

An old Fashioned Thanksgiving sounds like a great movie for the whole family, but especially so for mothers and daughters.  I’m sure there will be a good lesson in it for all of us.

I enjoy watching Jacqueline Bisset and I’m sure she won’t disappoint in An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving.

Go to HallmarkChannel.com and try your hand at winning the one-of-a-kind movie memorabilia, the Thanksgiving tablecloth and $2,000.00.  Good luck!

  1. throughly enjoyed "The Old Fashion Thanksgiving" program. It remined me of the strugles we had as a family, bur we were told hard times as well good times never last, and always be thankful, not just in the good times, bad as well. A half of a sweet potatoe for breakfast , sometimes one would run home for lunch to arrive to find mother just broke up hard bread and poured powder milk mix over it. Then back to shcool. But well three chilldren grew up finding our way . All had employmet no matter what was avilable. Cleaning , cooking, for others helped home. Our home might be poor, but my Grandmother would always say"We can always be clean" Thank you for such a hear warming story. And no swear words.

  2. @Florence: I glad you like it. And thank you for sharing a bit of your life’s story. You reminded me to work harder to have a more thankful heart.

  3. I watched the movie with my boyfriend and his mom. It was awesome!! Now I have to find a way to get the movie for her. She stated that she had to have that movie. Please help me out on finding it.

    Thanks!!

  4. @Denise: Glad you liked it. I will see what I can find out for you and let you know. 🙂

  5. @Grace: It sounds like you do have a very blessed life! I agree… I am so thankful to have been born during this time as well.

  6. Another wonderful movie on the Hallmark Channel! What a shame it began at 9 p.m. Young children would be in bed or fall asleep before 11 p.m. Perhaps you could play it in the afternoon when school is out. Next year Friday afternoon after Thanksgiving…. Congratulations!

  7. I really enjoy the moive. I think people have forgot how to live simple and be thankful for what they have and to share with others in good times as well as bad times. This program reminds us of our family relationship and how sweet they are. We should never never let anything stand against them.
